When it comes to fillers what is hyaluronic acid and when do we use hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that is used as a dermal filler in cosmetic procedures. It is used to add volume and fullness to the skin, and is commonly used to fill in wrinkles and fine lines, plump up lips, and enhance shallow contours in the face. It is also used to improve the appearance of scars and to restore volume to areas of the face that have lost fullness due to aging. At Skin Suite Laser & Medical Aesthetics in Winnipeg, Manitoba we use dermal fillers to help reach your appearance goals.

When you need to dissolve dermal fillers

Dermal fillers may need to be dissolved due to an adverse reaction or an unsatisfactory cosmetic result. In some cases, the filler may be placed in an area that is causing discomfort or is not achieving the desired look

Dermal fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid (HA) in the filler, causing it to be absorbed by the body. Hyaluronidase is injected into the area where the filler was originally placed, and the dissolution process typically takes a few days to complete. It's important to note that not all dermal fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase, and that the procedure should only be performed by a qualified healthcare professional.
